Seat Adjustment

You can adjust your Seat positions manually with the buttons on the side of the seat. Besides, you can adjust individually for seat depth, Fore and aft position, seat height, backrest angle, and lumbar support. To save your personal seat steering wheel and side mirror settings, use the Memory buttons. Press set and one, and a tone sounds to confirm that you save to call up the settings later. Press one again and a second person can use the button too.

Porsche Entry & Locking

Entry System

On vehicles with Porsche entry and drive, you can unlock the vehicle simply by having the key with you. Once inside, simply turned the control unit in the ignition lock to the right to start the car. When you’re leaving the vehicle, simply press the button on the door handle and the vehicle locks. If you prefer you can lock the vehicle using the key remotely.

On 911 Boxster and Cayman models with Porsche entry and drive the luggage compartment lids can be opened if you have the key with you. Move your hand over the body just below the lid and a sensor will unlock the lid. The vehicle will unlock doors automatically.

Porsche Locking System

Press the button on the outside of the door handle once to lock your car with Porsche entry and drive your lights will flash twice.

Mirror System Manual and Power

Mirror Folding Manual

To protect exterior mirrors in tight places they can be folded either manually or electrically if so equipped. You can fold in or out mirrors by hand. Firmly rotate them to the end of their travel. If equipped both exterior mirrors can be folded in or out with the upper mirror button on the door control panel. They can also fold in automatically when the vehicle is locked.

They will then fold out when the ignition is switched on.

You can turn on and off folding in the multifunction display under the locking menu.

Rear Window for Mirror Heating

To turn on Rear window heating, be sure the engine is running and press the defroster button on the center console, the indicator light on the button illuminates.

When Rear window heating is turned on, it is activate exterior mirror heating automatically. Depending on the outside temperature, the system turns off the heating button automatically after approximately 5 to 20 minutes. Then, it turned back on the heating by pressing the button again.

Closing Cargo Lids

Porsche made vehicle front and rear cargo lids and engine cover panels from lightweight aluminum, contributing to the vehicle’s low center of gravity. As a result, they are lighter and less rigid than traditional steel panels.

To close the front and rear cargo areas properly on most Porsche models, lower gently to a point about six inches above the closure point then let it fall. Next gently press down with fingertips on the area below the crest in the front, or the area to the left and right of the badge in the rear, until you hear the latch click.

Coasting Mode and ParkAssist

Coasting Mode

To reduce fuel consumption models with the Porsche double cup long transmission or PDK can coast efficiently without engine braking effect.

When you take your foot off the accelerator pedal, PDK automatically disengages the gear it’s in and you coast without engine power. When you press the brake or accelerator pedal PDK engages the correct gear again.

ParkAssist

Park Assist uses sensors in the rear and if the manufacturer equips for the vehicle, in the front of the car to detect nearby obstacles. A screen on the Porsche communication management or PCM display shows proximity to objects with different colors. Audible beep increases in frequency when nearing those objects.

Optionally, the display can be combined with the available backup camera on the PCM display. Pressing the button in the overhead console to turn on and off the system.
