Brake Noise and Brake Dust

Porsche designed car models to provide a driving experience that fully reflects that heritage. Porsche vehicles are also designed for operation at high speed such as the Autobahn. This requires brake components that handle not only ordinary driving but also high-performance driving conditions. Just as on a racecar, the Porsche Brake System will produce more brake dust than those found on vehicles designed for ordinary driving.
System of Brake
Brake Dust is a sign that the brake system is operating normally and producing a high-breaking performance. Brake Systems generate significant heat during high-performance driving which is why brake components in Porsche vehicles are designed to be resistant to that heat. When brake components are cold as in lower temperatures or when the car is first started up. They may make normal sounds not heard and brake systems are designed for a lower level of performance. At the end of a high-temperature drive, allow the brakes to cool for a few moments before applying the parking brake. This prevents hot brake rotors from possibly warping which could be the source of vibration and/ or noise when braking.
Porsche Dynamic Light System
Dynamic Lighting System
As known as PDLS, it is automatically activated with the light switch in the auto position while the vehicle is running the high and low-beam headlights swivel in the direction of the curve to illuminate the road more clearly. The highway function changes the distribution of the low beam lights to increase the field of vision when the vehicle is traveling at a speed of more than approximately 80 miles or 130 kilometers per hour.
When the rear fog light is switched on below approximately 38 miles or 60 km/h. The headlight beam becomes wider to reduce glare on vehicles so equipped static cornering lights also activate when the vehicle turns sharply or when the car activates the turn signal under 25 miles or 40 km/h.
Dynamic Lighting System Plus
A camera detects oncoming vehicles and vehicles you are approaching and automatically selects between low and high beams at speeds above approximately 37 miles or 60km/h. High beam assistants can be enabled and disabled in the multifunction display under light and visibility. Activating this assistant by pushing the light stock forward to a high beam. The letter A appears in the high-beam indicator symbol to pull the high-beam stock back to its original position to deactivate it.

HOLD Function
When you stop on an incline the hold function automatically prevents the vehicle from rolling backward. To release the Hold function simply press the accelerator pedal and continue driving. You can also activate the hold function by pressing the brake pedal firmly while stopping the car.
Drive-off Assistant (Manual Transmissions)
For vehicles with manual transmissions, the Drive-off assistant activates when you hold the vehicle securely with the foot brake. Press the clutch pedal fully and engage the gear. When you release the foot brake while keeping the clutch pressed. The Drive-off assistant will hold the parking brake to prevent you from rolling back. Detect your intention to drive off and automatically release the brake when you begin moving.
Standstill Management (PDK Transmissions)
For vehicles with Porsche topical pump or PDK transmissions, Standstill Management activates when you hold the vehicle securely with the foot brake. With the transmission in gear, when you let off the brake pedal the function will hold the parking brake to prevent you from rolling back. detect your intention to drive off and automatically release the brake when you begin moving.
