Key Fob Operation — Unlocking & Locking Panamera
Unlocking
The Porsche key fob starts with unlocking the vehicle press the unlock button once to unlock. In the Porsche PCM or communication management system, it is possible to set up the vehicle’s custom unlocking and locking options.
Locking
When locking the car, the vehicle monitoring alarm system, and the strong side monitoring system will activate. You can lock the vehicle and enable the alarm while deactivating interior surveillance by pressing the lock button twice within two seconds. The indicator light will stay on and on for two seconds to indicate that the internal monitoring system is off. This can be useful if occupants are remaining in the locked vehicle.
Unlocking Tailgate and Doors
You can use the key fob button to open the tailgate. When you open the trunk of the car, the car will stop working.
Panic Button
There is a panic button located on the back of the key fob press it to activate the panicle on. Press it again to cancel.
Emergency Key
If your key fob is inoperable, there is an emergency key integrated into your key fob. You can open your vehicle using this key does not disable the alarm system. The door lock for the emergency key is located on the door handle. On vehicles with Porsche entry and drive the lock is concealed beneath the door handle. The emergency key also unlocks the glove box lock. See your owner’s manual for more important information about using the emergency key and key fob.
Emergency Flat Tire Repair
Contact the hotline
Please contact or wait for Porsche roadside assistance as soon as there is a problem. There is a hotline number in the Porsche Panamera Owner’s Manual. The nearest repairman will come to help you.
Stop the vehicle as far away from the driving lane as possible. Make sure that it’s parked on a firm flat surface offering good grip for your vehicle. Put the vehicle in park or in first gear if you have a manual transmission, set the parking brake and remove the ignition key switch on the emergency flasher and consult the owner’s manual for important safety information before beginning. Make sure the warning light is on.
Prepare
In the event that your tire has a small cut or puncture and you are unable to contact or wait for Porsche roadside assistance. Your Porsche has an emergency tire sealant kit and an air compressor. They allow the car to be driven a short distance to your nearest authorized Porsche dealer.
Stop the vehicle as far away from the driving lane as possible. Put the vehicle in park or in first gear. If you have a manual transmission, set the parking brake and remove the ignition key switch on the emergency flasher and consult the owner’s manual for important safety information before beginning.
The tire sealant kit can be found under a cover in the front luggage compartment of the 911 718 Boxster. And 718 Cayman worn under the rear luggage compartment floor in the Panamera and Cayenne.
Repair
Open the sealant kit remove the tire sealant bottle and shake the bottle to mix the contents. Screw the filler hose onto the sealant bottle this will puncture the lid of the bottle so that the sealant can flow. Remove the valve cap and use the tool provided in the kit and remove the valve insert. Next, remove the plug from the filler hose and push the hose fully onto the tire valve. Hold the bottle higher than the level of the tire valve and squeeze it until the bottle is emptied into the tire. Do not get the sealant on your skin or clothes and consult the owner’s manual for additional warnings securely. Screw the valve and insert it back into the tire valve. A spare valve insert is provided in the kit if needed.
The compressor is under a removable cover in the front luggage compartment in the 9/11 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman and is under the luggage compartment floor in the Panamera and Cayenne. Remove the compressor and plug it into the power socket in the vehicle and inflate the tire to at least 37 psi. Verify the pressure in the fill info menu under the TPMS menu on the multifunction display. If this pressure cannot be reached or maintained the tire is too severely damaged and must be replaced before driving the vehicle. Note that the sealant can cause the TPMS sensor to give incorrect readings if this occurs. If the tire holds pressure screw the valve cap onto the tire valve.
Important Safety Tips
- Damaged tires could burst.
- Tire sealant kit for emergency use only.
- Keep your speed under 50mph (80km/h).
- Avoid hard acceleration and cornering.
- Check tire pressure after 10 minutes.
- Observe all safety and operating instructions for sealant and compressor.
Panoramic Roof System
In this part of the Porsche Panamera Owner’s Manual article, we’ll cover the panoramic roof system. The controls for the panoramic roof system are in the overhead console. With the roof system closed the front and rear Sunblinds can be opened or closed with the switches at the back of the console. The roof system switch has a two-stage function that can be felt and heard press or pull the switch to the first position until the desired position is reached then release the switch to stop. The process of automatic operation is available by fully pressing the switch to the second position and releasing the roof system will fully open. You can tilt the rear of the roof system for extra cabin ventilation by pressing The rear of the switch up and pulling the switch down lowers.
The roof system closes the roof system by pressing the first position and holding till the desired position is reached. Or by pressing the switch to the second position for automatic operation to fully close the roof system from outside the vehicle.You can also open the roof system with the driver’s key press and hold the unlock button to open the roof to the desired position press and hold the lock button to close the roof to the desired position. When you close the roof completely, The emergency flasher will flash once.
