Lincoln Experience: Welcome Light
Your Lincoln may have a feature that senses when you are approaching your locked vehicle and turns on welcome legs. When you get there make getting in even easier. Let me explain. When you approach your locked vehicle enter within approximately eight feet. Or when you unlock it using your key fob the signature accent lighting turns on a Lincoln.
Welcome hat illuminates the ground outside the driver and front-passenger store. The exterior door handle pocket will illuminate several interior features. That includes cupholders door handles in inside door mat pockets illuminate – you’ll notice that the lights are white initially in change to your chosen ambient lighting color.
After you start your vehicle in addition the backlight on your push-button start-stop button pulsates. And your odometer the logo on my Lincoln touchscreen radio control buttons and CD eject button also illuminate conveniently. These lights stay on until you get into your vehicle and push the start button or after a period of time is past. Your Auto folding mirrors also unfold once the driver gets in and closes the door. And when you turn off your vehicle and get out and lock it your Auto folding mirrors will fold again.
Keep in mind if you approach your locked vehicle and stand within an approximate 8-foot range for more than a few minutes the Lincoln experiences feature will turn off. Of course, to conserve battery power you can always turn the welcome lighting off by changing the settings in the message center
Rear Interior Lighting
Your Lincoln vehicle may be equipped with an intelligent, electronically controlled door system. Sensors in the light touch handle on both driver and passenger doors, as well as the rear passenger doors help reduce the amount of force required to unlatch and open them. To enter the vehicle from outside… gently press the light touch switch located on the inside of the door handle.
Doing so will cause the door to electronically unlatch. The same mechanism makes exiting the vehicle easy too. Instead of a traditional door handle, look for this button on the side of the arm rest on the door. Press it in, and the door will automatically unlatch… so, you can swing it open the rest of the way with ease.
One more thing. If you are inside your vehicle and unable to use the electronic door system, you can open the door by pulling the emergency release handle in the map pocket, here.

For your convenience, your Lincoln may have rear dome lights. They are located on the headliner panel above the rear doors. And behind the grab handles they illuminate from above. To give your interior a cleaner appearance, you can switch the individual rear lights on independently by pressing the button next to the handle. The rear lights will also turn on when you open any door. Press the unlock button on your key fob or press the all-lamp switch located on the overhead console.
