Parking Aid System Criteria and Sensor Maintenance

To ensure the optimal functioning of the parking aid system in your vehicle, certain criteria must be met. It’s important to note that the system may not operate effectively in all road and weather conditions. To maintain proper sensor performance, regularly clean the parking aid sensors located in the front and rear bumpers.

Ensure they are free from ice, frost, dirt, or any obstructions that may hinder their detection pathway. Additionally, be aware that the sensors may not detect moving objects such as children or animals until they are dangerously close, particularly near overhanging objects, barriers, or thin obstructions.

Using the Parking Aid System for Forward Parking

When slowly driving forward into a parking space with the “Drive” selected, activate the parking aid system by touching the parking aid icon on the touchscreen. This action activates the front and side sensors, and the indicator above the parking aid icon illuminates to confirm the selection. The touchscreen will display an overhead view of the vehicle and its surroundings.

The predicted path of the vehicle, based on the position of the steering wheel, will be shown along with the vehicle’s speed. Detected obstacles within the vehicle’s surroundings are depicted as colored blocks on the touchscreen. These blocks indicate the likelihood of a collision with a detected obstacle and its associated risk level.

When an object is detected, a warning tone is emitted, increasing in frequency as the vehicle moves closer to the object. The tone remains constant when the object is within 30 centimeters of the bumper. Always remain vigilant of your surroundings and take appropriate action if necessary. To cancel the view, simply touch the cross icon located in the top right corner of the screen.

Reversing with the Parking Aid System

When reversing into a parking space, the parking aid system is automatically activated. This activates the front, rear, and side sensors, with the indicator above the parking aid icon illuminating to confirm the system’s active status. It’s important to note that if you have an accessory fitted to the rear of the vehicle. The system indicates the distance between objects and the bumper, rather than the fitted accessory.

The rear camera, mounted on the rear bumper, provides a color image of the vehicle’s rear, displayed on the left side of the screen. The parking aid system includes multiple cameras, such as those mounted in the front grille, rear bumper, and on each exterior mirror. These cameras provide visual displays on the touchscreen. A graphic representation of the vehicle is shown, and you can select the associated camera image by touching the arrow icons.

Up to two camera images can be displayed simultaneously. Additionally, touching the 360-degree icon on the screen provides a bird’s-eye view of the surroundings. The parking aid system remains active until you select “park” or drive at a speed exceeding 10 miles per hour. The indicator above the parking aid icon will turn off when the parking system is no longer active.
