The New Hyundai IONIQ 6: range of over 300 miles

The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 is an electric car with a range of over 300 miles. It is a Tesla Model 3 competitor and it is priced at $49,000. The IONIQ 6 has a sleek design and it is loaded with features. It has a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and an infotainment system. The IONIQ 6 is a great car for the environment and for the wallet. The only downside is the range. The IONIQ 6 is a great car for long trips and for the environment.

Introduction

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric car was eagerly anticipated following the success of the all-electric Ioniq 5. The new model features the same EV architecture as its predecessor but has an aerodynamic coupe shape inspired by ‘streamliners’ from the 1930s. With such a stylish design, this electric vehicle is sure to be a hit!

The streamlined design of this model gives it a low coefficient of drag (Cd) rating of 0.21, resulting in an extended range – of up to 381 miles. This is an impressive 66 miles more than its closest competitor, who has a Cd of 0.29. Unfortunately, this version won’t be available to British customers; they will get the model with the lower range instead.

 IONIQ 6’s range

They upgraded all US-spec 6 EVs with a long-range 77.4 kWh battery, as well as 20-inch alloy wheels, and offer the option for a rear or all-wheel drive. When equipped with the latter, drivers will experience an impressive 321 bhp; this power allows for 0-62 mph times of 5.1 seconds while providing an impressive range of 322 miles per charge.

The US models of this car have 20-inch rims, so their range is slightly lower than the global figure – 338 miles for the rear-wheel drive car with the optional digital side-view mirrors. This adds an extra mile of range.

We noticed that the placement of the screen behind the usual position for mirrors makes it very difficult to go from glancing at the ‘mirror’ to quickly looking over your shoulder. Additionally, the optional Mirrors cost $1200 in Britain and we would not advise investing in them. So far, we have had a chance to try out two Ioniq 6 models – a top-of-the-line long-range AWD riding on 20-inch wheels in South Korea, which they would price at an estimated $64,730 if it were available in the US.

Interior and exterior shelf design

The exterior of the car is not quite as sophisticated as its press photos lead on. It has traces of Mercedes and Porsche designs but doesn’t bring these elements together convincingly. The Ioniq 5 certainly has a unique look with its short overhangs, high roofline, and spacious interior. However, it appears mismatched. Packaging this car was understandably challenging given the large battery pack between the axles and the need to accommodate tall passengers – resulting in a design that seeks to be lower and wider rather than greater height. This aesthetic recalls memories of the 2020 Hyundai Prophecy Concept Car.

The interior of the Ioniq 6 is incredibly impressive. Its seats are incredibly comfortable and it features an expansive headroom, a concave door casing design that gives plenty of additional knee-room, as well as a floating center console to create an airy feeling inside the cabin. Moreover, there are charging ports and storage cubbies throughout, offering more than enough compartments to store any items. Although hard plastics may be noticeable in some areas, they still achieve an overall modern look thanks to the two 12-inch screens (one being a touchscreen and the other being a digital instrument binnacle) accompanied by gloss black trim and a pair of capacitive and aluminum buttons.

The Ioniq 6 is pleasantly spacious in the back – there’s a great flat floor and plenty of legroom. Even those who are tall will be comfortable with at least an inch of headspace to spare. The only unfortunate point is the lack of foot space under the front seats, though it’s unlikely to be a major issue since they’re so far away from the rear passengers.
