The BMW Travel & Comfort System

The BMW Travel & Comfort System provides additional convenience facilities for rear passengers on BMW models with conventional front seat headrests or fitted with the optional Travel & Comfort mount.

To install the Travel & Comfort System base carrier:

• Slide the front seat headrest out of the backrest without removing it completely.
• Put the left groove of the base carrier around the left headrest foot.
• Push the unlock button to push the base carrier together. And let the right groove of the carrier spring around the right headrest foot.
• Adjust the base carrier level on the headrest feet,
• And push the clips around the headrest feet into the grooves of the carrier until they audibly engage.

To the Travel & Comfort System base carrier, you can attach different convenience features.

The BMW Universal Hook

The BMW universal hook is just latched into the socket of the base carrier.

And you can remove all accessories from the socket by pressing the two release buttons.

The BMW Clothes Hanger

Having attached the BMW clothes hanger to the Travel & Comfort system base, you can remove the top section to take your clothes on the hanger with you.

To do so, push the unlock button on the bottom section and pull the top section off.

Depending on the model, with the optional Travel & Comfort mount with an electrical connection in the front seat backrest, you can install the Travel & Comfort System attachments without the base carrier.

The BMW Folding

You can also attach the BMW folding in the same way.

By pressing the lock at the back you can adjust the height of the folding table.

The overload protection on the tray table and cup holder allows you to fold the hinges back into place without damaging them if they have been overstretched.

The BMW Universal Holder for Tablets with a safety Case

Last but not least, with the BMW universal holder for tablets with a safety case, you can attach your own mobile device to the back seat.

Insert the tablet into the safety case, pull open the bracket on the tablet holder, place the tablet in the safety case in the holder, and close the bracket.

You may flip the tablet holder, twist it sideways, and tilt it back and forth by pressing the button in the hinge. You may charge your gadget via the electrical connection in the front seat.

Mounting the BMW Roof-Mounted Bike Rack

The BMW Roof-Mounted Bike Rack is a secure method to transport your bikes on your BMW.

You can mount the bike rack on the base rails of BMW roof carriers or railing carriers.

Firstly, prepare the bike rack by placing the rim guard over the toothed belt on the roof-mounted bike rack.

Then place the end of the toothed belt through the buckle.

Secondly, use the key to open the lock on the front lever and remove it from the bike rack.

Now unlock the fastening wheel.

Thirdly, push the barrel nuts into the openings of the rear locking lever and of the two front locking levers.

Guide the short sliding block through the opening of the rear base plate of the bike rack and screw the rear locking lever onto it from above.

Open the side covers of the mounted roof carrier bars on your BMW.

Mount the bike rack onto the rails of the roof carrier by aligning the sliding blocks around the center of the carrier bars.

Insert the sliding blocks into the rails of the roof carrier bars and slide the bike rack into the required position.

Lastly, secure the bike rack on the roof carrier bars by turning the locking levers tight, and then pressing each locking lever downwards forcefully until they engage with an audible click.

Close the lock in the front locking lever. When it is delivered, the roof-mounted bike rack is designed for loading from the right-hand side of the car.

Fixing the bikes on your BMW Roof-Mounted Bike Rack

• Frame protectors to cushion the frames of carbon fibre bicycles in the retaining arm or adapter wheel holders for the wider tyres of fatbikes are available as optional additional parts.
• Turn the retaining arm upwards and position your bike onto the bike rack placing both tyres straight on the rails.
• Place the claw around the lower frame tube of the bike.
• Ensure that the retaining arm is at an angle of 90 degrees to the frame tube and that it is in the centre of the holder.
• Turn the fastening wheel clockwise to fix the bike frame until you hear an audible click.
• Push the wheel holder to the centre of the tyre.

• Tie the toothed belt over the tyre between two spokes and slide it through the buckle.
• Move the lever on the buckle up and down to tension the toothed belt.
• Ensure that the rim guard is flush over the rim and that the toothed belt is tensioned tightly.
• Close the lock on the fastening wheel.
• Depending on the width of your BMW’s roof and the roof carrier bars, you can mount up to four bike racks onto a BMW roof carrier.
